🌸 Blooms & Belief: The Heart Behind Our First Flower Bar Pop-Up

Joy. That’s the only word I can use to describe it.

From the moment the flower bar was set up, you could feel something special blooming. Faces lit up, smiles stretched ear to ear — not just because the bouquets were beautiful, but because each purchase was doing more than brightening a room. It was helping turn prom dreams into prom realities. 💐✨

This pop-up meant so much more

than flowers. It was a chance to step into a new season — one that creates space for both monetary support and advocacy for The Madrina Project.

I’m so grateful to Naomi from

Through Grace Coffee for trusting me

with her vision of a flower bar and

creating a space to make it happen.

Also, shoutout to her husband

Christian for supporting us by

purchasing a large bouquet!

💪 It Takes a Village

This entire cause and concept takes a village — and I couldn’t do it without the incredible team and volunteers who make it happen.

  • Bianca, thank you for donating the cash we needed to buy the signature flowers that made the Flower Bar possible.

  • Del, you were such a huge help during set-up (which, let’s be real, is always the most intense part!). Your eye for beauty and calm presence brought everything together perfectly — and you even remembered to snap a photo! 📸

  • Anyssa, thank you for covering another event and still showing up to support tear-down with love and laughter. One extra pair of hands at the end is truly a game-changer.

  • Gabe and Lorely, your content captured the heart of the day so beautifully. You’re both so talented, kind, and thoughtful in how you support this mission — I can’t wait to support you more through HER Collective.

Our ACC Downtown community group really showed up, too — helping me prep the night before and coming out to support by buying flowers. I’m so grateful for you all.

And last, but never least — my amazing husband, Joshua. Thank you for helping donate the seed money for this pop-up, for always being kind when I blow up our house with Madrina projects, and for being my faithful load-up and load-off partner in crime.

💸 Raising More Than Funds

We raised $391 in flower sales and received over $200 in in-kind donations, plus hours of untracked driving, designing, lifting, creating, and dreaming.

Our original goal was simple: cover one month of storage and see if this idea had potential. We did both. ✔️

And now — we’re thrilled to share that we’ll be hosting another Flower Bar

Pop-Up this Sunday, April 13, 2025,

from 12 PM – 5 PM!

We will gift one signature flower when you donate a dress. (limit one per per donor)

The funds raised will go toward covering our monthly storage costs — a not-so-glamorous but very real need. And hopefully very soon, we’ll move out of

that storage unit and into a permanent, front-facing space where even more young women can experience the magic of

The Madrina Project.

🌼 Planting Seeds of Awareness

We estimate that 20–30 new people learned about our mission through this one pop-up. That’s 20–30 new hearts connected to our story. One of them, a girl named Destiney, has already signed up — along with her sister — to volunteer at our upcoming Fairy Godmother Boutique Pop-Up this Friday. What a gift!

🌺 What’s Next?

We’d love to host more Flower Bar Pop-Ups — for special holidays, local events, or even on a monthly basis. Each one is a chance to advocate, raise funds, and bring beauty into the world in a way that’s deeply rooted in purpose.

Next up: Texas Fashion Week in May — full blog coming soon!

To every volunteer, donor, and supporter: thank you. Thank you for believing in what we’re building. We encourage you to stay connected and get plugged into the work we’re doing every single day.

With gratitude and blooms,

Carmen Lidia Fajardo

"When Kelley met Significant U Founder, ..., she said her life was forever changed. It was only after seeing herself in her dress that she understood what Carmen Lidia was trying to do: Make young women feel beautiful inside and out...

“I looked so good!” she said smiling, holding back tears of joy.
